Los Angeles, CA - The Motorcycle Group of emap usa announces the appointment of Jamie Elvidge as editor of Motorcycle Cruiser magazine. She replaces Art Friedman, who has moved to emap Digital as content director for the Group's forthcoming Internet sites.

Jamie has been a career motorcycle journalist for 15 years. She has been a longtime contributor to Motorcyclist magazine, and a key and popular member of the Motorcycle Cruiser team since the magazine's launch in 1996. She officially takes the helm as editor of Motorcycle Cruiser with the February 2001 issue.

"We are thrilled to have Jamie step up to this opportunity," said Fred Koplin, vice-president and executive publisher of the Motorcycle Group. "Cruiser readers have loved her writing, her attitude and her creative energy since the magazine's inception, and this is a great chance for her to contribute even more to the title's growth and success."

Though no fundamental changes in the mission of Motorcycle Cruiser are planned, a different personality in the editor's chair obviously brings a fresh outlook and new ideas to the magazine. The company and the Motorcycle Group look forward to the positive impact Jamie will have on Cruiser, and on the magazine's ongoing delivery of the best-quality, most informative news, product tests and features for enthusiasts of metric and American cruiser motorcycles.
